The Lloyds bank in 1962 was a family grocer H J Knee. This picture is looking in the direction of Longwell Green.
Bryants Hill St George pictured April 1939. The tobacconist shop on the right was owned by A H Dumble.
High Street 1914 looking towards St George. The building on the left was Samuel Whites SChool demolished in 1970.
Victoria Buildings on the High Street 1910. The junction with Tabernacle Road is just past the buildings on the left.
The Crown and Horseshoe Inn 1936. This pub was first built in the 1790's and is now known as The Maypole.

Billets shop 1920 just past Lwr Hanham Road. A small Co-Op supermarket occupies the refurbished premises today.
A sweet shop and hardware store 1925 on High St adj to Billets shop. It is now a car park for the new co-op store.
High Street 1957. The building on the right has been demolished and rebuilt and "Mead" is now "Moorfield".
Left of the Jolly Sailor 1937. Mr Charles Painter outside the business of "Arthur Painter & Son, Undertakers".
The Jolly Sailor Pub 1912 left on the High Street. In former times a large tree and a well stood on the forecourt.
High Street 1906 with the Pound Chapel centre. The chapel is now demolished and shops now include a Games Shop, Newsagent, Undertakers and a Fashion shop.
The Beaufort Arms Off License 1932 opposite Chapel Road. This building is now a staff recruitment office.
Looking up Chapel Road from High Street 1905. The Pound Chapel built in 1875-76 was demolished in 1962.

Hanham Bus Depot 1920 when in the ownership of Mr W J Bence. It is now the Tollgate Hire.
High Street 1907 with Baptist chapel on right. The chapel was rebuilt in 1957 after fire damage.
High Street 1928. Whittucks Road is off to the left and the Baptist Chapel is on the right.
The Bluebowl Inn 1927. A stone horse trough is built into the front wall and there was a well to the side and another inside the Inn.
